Quality Life in Stressful Times

Let me ask you a question: Do you believe that we are living in the most stressful times in over 25 years?

Maybe you've lost a job, got a pay cut, lost a bunch in the stock market, been hit with higher costs (grocery, gas, fun stuff), gas prices gone wild, loss of a loved one, taxes and insurance hikes, ouch! It all seems to be piling on in the last year.

Ever get to thinking about your stressful situation and start making up scenarios in your head!?! This could happen... I could say this... they could say that... Could've, Should've, Would've. We "should" all over ourselves!

Learning how to deal with stress better is our #1 priority at Molski Chiropractic. "How does popping your back help you deal with stress?" Some have asked me this. Quick answer: popping your back has nothing to do with relieving stress. Adjusting your spine to remove nerve interference has everything to do with relieving stress.

The nerve system is the master control system. We live our lives through our nervous system. You take in information from the environment through our senses. Our brain interprets that info, and we react. You see a smiling, precious little baby and you smile. Done through the nervous system. Kind of important, isn't it!?!

Wouldn't you want your nervous system working at its best, as often as it can, for the rest of your life? Of course you would!

Do you want disturbance in your nervous system affecting its ability to run your body? Do you want that for your kids?

Of course not!

Listen to one of the first things Valorie has to say about her chiropractic care:

Call us today about finding out if there are disturbances in your nervous system, your spouse, your kids! Make sure to not leave the kids at home. It's easier to deal with problems in children than in adults. Make an appointment today! 972-542-3300

A Whole New Light...

I came across this from a great chiropractic patient by the name of Bill Esteb. Bill has been a chiropractic patient for many, many years and has published books to the profession on chiropractic from a patients point of view. He's a tremendous asset to our profession and always has great insight.

Have you ever wondered what Rx really means?

The letter "R" is from the Latin meaning ‘recipe’ which in the context of a prescription means ‘Take thou this.’ The mark on the tail of the "R" is said to be from the astrological sign of Jupiter. At one time it was believed to precede a formula with the Jupiter’s sign, as a sort of invocation, would assure a favorable result. Moreover, according to astrologers, the period during the ascendancy of the planet Jupiter was thought to be a good time to gather herbs and concoct medicines. Kinda puts prescription medicines in a whole new light…

If that isn't enough to get you to wonder, what about the medical symbol? The Caduceus? What does that mean? Lots of interesting background on that, here's a tidbit for you...

"The Caduceus, it turns out, was a staff carried by the Greek god Hermes. Hermes is best known as the messenger of the gods, but he is also well known as the protector of liars, gamblers and thieves. He's also prominently known as the guide of the dead."

And we wonder why medicine is what it is today.

Why don't we look at a more natural point of view. A view that states that you were born to be healthy, that you were given that by God. A view that states our body will do exactly what it's supposed to do if there is no interference with it. Removing that interference and showing you ways to deal with the stressors that cause interference, that is the conduit we need to allow God to do what He does best, protect and cherish you.

Just food for thought.
